Nokia is working on a new accessory called Treasure Tag. The gadget will allow you to locate objects, using the smartphone with an appropriate application, which will be combined with them.
Treasure Tag uses NFC technology and Bluetooth 4.0, as well as a dedicated app for Windows Phone. With this application a lost item with the tag can be located on the map or in the Nokia LiveSight with enhanced reality. The service source also mentions that if a user with a smartphone is near Treasure Tag, the sensor will trigger a notification sound on a phone.

Unfortunately, I missed some details in The Verge information. It was given that the Treasure Tag battery can withstand a half a year without charging. But what is the range of the device? How does it determine its location? How does it transmit data to the phone or the network? The answer may be my suspicion that Treasure Tag is nothing but a bluetooth-head pendant with the addition of NFC and its scope is limited to the end of the Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. But how can we explain its appearance in several brand sites?
