Microsoft is apparently jealous of Apple popularity of the electronic assistant and creates its own digital feminine being. Consumers of the digital entertainment know it from the Halo series as an inseparable companion of Master Chief - that is Cortana.
In the Halo video game series Cortana gives the main character many various information, tactical advice; can handle computer security breaches. It is an artificial intelligence aesthetically enchanted visually in virtual, ephemeral shapes of a young woman.

The application zCortanaApp was allegedly spotted at the screenshots of the new version of Windows Phone 8.1, in June. "Z" means in this case, the trial version. In July, Stefan Weitz (the director of Bing) in an interview with CNET mentioned that Microsoft decides to compete with Siri only if it could prepare something really revolutionary. And when we succeed – he mentioned – we will far precede our competitors..
If, or rather "when" it rises, Cortana will probably be integrated into the huge Satori database related to Bing. Commentators hope that maybe - just like the original – it will be able to learn and adapt combining and associating facts, people, events and places.
It is suggested that Cortana is to be something more than just an application – a digital assistant serving its knowledge and communicating with the user by means of voice interface. Becoming a coating system, appearing on all platforms, Microsoft would become a true ubiquitous ghost in the machine, which recognizes user's habits and preferences, no matter if he just uses a phone, a computer or a game console.
Steve Balmer in July, during the strategic reorganization of the company was to say: "Our UI will be deeply personalized, based on the advanced, almost magical, intelligence in our cloud that learns more and more over time about people and the world. Our shell will natively support all of our essential services, and will be great at responding seamlessly to what people ask for, and even anticipating what they need before they ask for it." - Although I can imagine the same - maybe slightly modified - words that Balmer could describe in the past Windows 95, however, this statement may make an impression.
Other bigwigs at Microsoft apparently belie the news of the fast debut of Cortana. Information that we have the chances for this type of functionality are somewhere between the future and the 2016 year, does not seem to be comforting.
Siri has not make a staggering impression on me. I do not know how it will be with Cortana. But I do know that one cannot underestimate the enormous potential of this type of psychological solutions. The potential that – with the brilliant execution - is likely to bring huge profits and perhaps, dominate the market as once did the operating system from Microsoft.
