Amazon has just launched new models of its three e-readers, along with several interesting accessories designed to make reading even easier.
The entry-level, 6-inch Kindle is Amazon's oldest and most affordable e-reader—now in its 12th generation. The latest model is 1 mm thinner, loads books 30% faster, and is lighter: the violet and graphite versions with plastic casings weigh 140 grams, while the green and blue aluminum versions weigh 160 grams. The new Kindle features a power button on the right side, a battery that lasts for six weeks, and a casing color that extends to the bezels surrounding the screen.
The 7th-generation Kindle Paperwhite is a larger e-reader featuring a 7-inch display with better contrast than the previous model and a battery life of up to 12 weeks. Options include a standard graphite model with 16 GB of internal storage and a pricier Signature Edition—available in graphite and Seaglass Green—featuring an aluminum casing, automatic screen brightness adjustment, and 32 GB of storage.
The second-generation Kindle Colorsoft has also become thinner and lighter, featuring a 7-inch color display and a battery that lasts for eight weeks of reading. Its aluminum Signature Edition variant is now available in a new burgundy shade.
Both the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Colorsoft also feature IPX8-rated water resistance.

Alongside the e-readers, Amazon also unveiled a range of new accessories, including a charging dock and a selection of covers. One of these—the Page-Turn Cover, designed for the 7-inch Paperwhite and Colorsoft models—features physical buttons for more convenient page turning. For even greater convenience, users can also opt for the Amazon Kindle Click, a new Bluetooth-enabled remote with a wrist strap that allows for page turning, screen brightness adjustment, and switching to sleep mode without touching the device itself.
