Thanks to the Polish branch of the manufacturer we have the opportunity to participate in the launch of the latest flagship smartphone LG G3. London greeted us with a truly English weather, but the prospect of taking up a complete novelty heats up moods enough.
The launch of LG G3 is entitled Simple is the New Smart and - although specifications of the Korean carrier version of the smartphone emerged before the launch – it brings a little more information about the device, which can be expected in the market sales around holidays..

Telling the truth with some disappointment, we learned that the product samples available during the presentation are smartphones with specifications on Far Eastern markets, but we sincerely hope that the technical specification of the device, which will be in stores in Europe will not be different from the one we already know.

LG G3 is a worthy successor of the G series smartphone. Although the simplicity listed in the promotional slogan, in the context of hi-end may raise some concerns, but the manufacturer is really about the ease of use of the latest technology. About creating a smartphone that not only fits perfectly with the needs of users, but which is also user friendly.

It must be admitted that the smartphone's display actually makes a very good impression. Its area filled 76.4 % of the front of the unit using the width of the enclosure almost to the maximum. Take a look at the infographic anyway. I admit it is impressive. In the specification there is also a place for a 2.5 GHz 4-core processor, 3 GB of RAM , 32 GB of flash ROM and a removable battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh. By replacing the metal in the battery cathode with graphite, LG engineers were able to extend the lifespan of the G3’s battery. The redesigned user interface makes the device present effortless elegance, although time will tell whether the changes proved to be spot-on.

The laser auto focus used in the construction of camera module is probably unprecedented in the construction of smartphones. The camera in G3, as one of few on the market, will offer optical image stabilization. I do not know if I like the option of taking a photo immediately after setting the autofocus, but I admit that it actually shortens the time needed to take a photo. Amendments also touched the front camera: there is a 2.1 megapixel matrix and the lens has a slightly increased brightness.

When it comes to sound options, the most striking is the built-in 1W speaker with Boost AMP, but apart from that we should notice a marked improvement in the sound recording or videos with sound, because the system measures the background noise level and tries to choose the optimal level of intensity of the recorded audio.

The number of software innovations is quite large, it is hard to mention them all, but let's try:
- Smart Keyboard: Adaptive technology learns as you type for faster input with less mistakes. Smart Keyboard reduces input errors by up to 75 percent by tracking and analyzing typing habits and intuitively knowing what word the user intended to type.
- The height of the keyboard can also be adjusted to better fit the user’s hands and position of the thumbs. Individual keys can also be customized with frequently used symbols for even faster input.
- Smart Notice: Like a personal assistant, Smart Notice provides suggestions and recommendations based on user behavior, phone usage patterns and location to offer user information when it’s needed the most. Smart Notice can remind you of a call you declined earlier and ask if you would like to call that person back. If you have a large number of un used files or apps on the G3 taking up valuable space, Smart Notice will ask if you would like to delete or uninstall them. But what sets Smart Notice apart from other personal assistants is its natural language capabilities. For example, instead of just displaying today’s temperature and weather forecast, Smart Notice will make a recommendation such as, You may want to take an umbrella today since it will rain this evening.
- Knock Code enables users to unlock their device with a pattern of taps. Merging security and convenience, users can create a personalized code that can be entered anywhere on the screen. With the G3, users have the option of being able to use KnockON to wake the screen to check the time as well as enter the home screen directly via Knock Code.
- Content Lock keeps personal files safe and hidden from view when sharing the G3 with friends. When the G3 is connected to a PC, Content Lock prevents file previews so the data is still safe. The locked files can reside either on the G3’s internal memory or on the microSD card.
- Kill Switch gives G3 owners the ability to disable their phones remotely in the event of theft. The Kill Switch also allows content on the G3 to be wiped so personal information won’t be compromised. Kill Switch also includes antivirus scanning and remote wipe and lock, among other essential features.

The sales of the LG G3 smartphone will begin on May 28 in South Korea, and will be available from over 170 carriers in the near future. As previously mentioned, everything points to the fact that in most European countries it should be available around holidays. Remember that in the catalogue we present the specification for the Korean version of the smartphone. The manufacturer warns that the technical data may differ depending on the country of sale, although at the moment there are no details on the basis of which one could mention the differences. As soon as the test sample smartphones for Europe appear, we will let you know about the differences in specification.
