Samsung presents two new smartphones. Galaxy W is a powerful, 7-inch phablet, while Samsung Z is the first commercially offered phone running Tizen.
Let us take look first at the model Galaxy W. This is a device, which is a complement (or rather a development) of the Mega family: smartphones with large displays and average specifications. Galaxy W is not trying to break away. It is a 7-inch monster that could be considered as a normal tablet if not for the fact that it is able to handle voice calls without the need for peripheral devices. Galaxy W has a classic built-in speaker and a microphone and basically is a phone – but a large one. The equipment has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, and the screen has a resolution of 720p. On board there is also a 16 GB of built-in memory, an 8-megapixel camera and 2-megapixel front webcam. Galaxy W runs on Android 4.3, the unit price will be around $ 490.

Samsung Z is also not a device with a knockout specification. Its distinguishing feature is a new system platform, Tizen 2.2.1. The rest of the equipment gives the impression of a mixture of other current models, we are dealing with a 4.8-inch 720p display and a quad-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, supported by 2 GB of RAM. The casing with leatherette back is a bit like the Galaxy Note 3, but under the lens of an 8-megapixel camera we find a pulse sensor known from Galaxy S5. Samsung Z supports LTE connectivity, has a 16 GB of memory, a slot for microSD cards and NFC module. The smartphone has a battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh. The phone is equipped with software options known from Galaxy S5: Ultra Power Saving Mode and Download Booster, accelerating downloads by simultaneously using LTE and Wi-Fi. Samsung Z will go on sale in the third quarter - first in Russia, then in other countries.
