Honor's much-anticipated budget smartphone has officially launched. Honor X7e combines several better features, but also a few weaker ones.
Let's start with the strong points of the Honor X7e. The smartphone has a decent case, available in two colors, with an IP64 rating. It also deserves praise for its solid 7500 mAh battery, which charges efficiently at a fairly decent 45W. In select markets, the smartphone will also be available in the LAB-LX1 variant with a 7000 mAh battery, unlike the mainstream LAB-LX2 and LX3 models. The budget-friendly phone also boasts 256 GB of internal storage, as well as a 50-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a portrait lens. A minijack, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and an additional AI key are also welcome additions.

Unfortunately, things get worse from there. The Honor X7e has a 6.6-inch TFT screen with only HD+ resolution, though it boasts a 120 Hz refresh rate. The screen features a punch-hole for a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The phone's heart is the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor, supported by 6 GB of RAM and powered by Android 16 with MagicOS 10.0. The smartphone measures 163.9 x 75.9 x 8.29 mm and weighs 204 or 207 g, depending on battery capacity. It's priced in Malaysia at 899 ringgit, or $225.
