During Monday's Zensation event taking place in the framework of the Computex trade fair in Taiwan, Asus Chairman Jonney Shih unveiled the new products. Among them there was a new smartphone ZenFone Selfie and two tablets - ZenPad 8.0 and ZenPad S 8.0 - and a watch ZenWatch 2.
ZenFone Selfie
ZenFone Selfie is a unique smartphone designed to capture the best possible selfies, quickly and simply. It is featuring front and rear 13MP PixelMaster cameras with dual-color, dual LED Real Tone flash. The rear camera features a large f/2.0 aperture lens and laser auto-focus technology. ZenFone Selfie also has Selfie Panorama mode, which exploits ZenFone Selfie’s f/2.2-aperture front lens and 88-degree field of view to capture panoramic selfies of up to 140 degrees. It also has a beautifying operating mode in real time. ZenFone Selfie has a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen with wide, 178-degree viewing angle and a pixel density of 403ppi. ZenPad 8.0 (Z380)
ZenPad 8.0 is - as the name implies – an 8-inch tablet with a pleasant rounded housing. ZenPad 8.0 is the world's first tablet to feature an innovative interchangeable cover design that lets users easily customize their tablet with functional back covers. In addition, Asus will propose dedicated to this device, multi-colored cases Zen Clutch and Zen Case and an interesting Audio Cover, containing 5.1 speaker system. There will also be available Power Case with an additional battery, extending the operating time of the tablet up to 15 hours of usage. ZenPad 8.0 is available with LTE/Wi-Fi connectivity and phone functionality (Z380KL) or as a Wi-Fi-only model (Z380C).photo: Asus
ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA)
ZenPad S 8.0 is a slim (6.6 mm) and lightweight (298 g) premium class tablet. It is equipped with an 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1536x2048 pixels, a wide 178-degree viewing angle and a density of 324 ppi. The built-in Tru2Life Plus provides a better representation of moving images. It is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor and is the world’s first 8-inch tablet with 4GB of RAM. ZenPad S 8.0 is also equipped with the optional Z Stylus, which greatly increases the functionality of the tablet. ZenWatch 2
ZenWatch 2 runs on Android Wear and will be available in two sizes: 37mm and 41mm (width). The smaller 37mm sports an 18mm strap, with the 41mm having a larger 22mm band. Both have AMOLED dipslays with Gorilla Glass 3, IP67 dust and water resistance, magnetic charging cables, and use unspecified Qualcomm processors. The new Asus smartwatch is waterproof (IP67), and will be offered in three colours - silver, graphite and gold.
