The number one during the Huawei press conference was the model Mate S, heralding a new era of touch-friendly mobiles. We also saw how Huawei G8 and a new smartwatch look like.
The phone has a 5.5-inch fullHD screen covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. There is also a fingerprint sensor. The manufacturer's representatives promise more than a day of action on a single charge. During the press conference, Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, compared Mate S with iPhone 6 plus.

The functions built-in the camera allow for any liquid cropping not only on the quadrangle plan, but also with any other irregular outline. Huawei has also built its “Knuckle Sense 2.0” technology into the Mate S. The smartphone allows for users to interact with the display using certain knuckle based gestures: M - like music, C - like a camera, W - like weather. The new technology (Force Touch) also allows for some innovative solution - by stronger pressing the screen there can be obtained, for example zooming a photography. In addition, the display was divided into zones, and additional options for running the application and device control is achieved by use of the corners and bottom of the screen.

Browsing the specification of Mate S it is worth noting the 13-megapixel rear camera and the 8-megapixel front webcam – with the most optimal beautifying algorithm. Three directional microphones allow for audio recording, eg. during multiplayer meetings or conferences.

The battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh. 10 minutes charging is - according to the manufacturer - allow for two hours of talk time. Mate S can function as a phone for two cards (including LTE - 13 major frequencies), possibly as one SIM and a memory card.

All those who decide to purchase the device will find a set of metal headphones with a remote control that allows to use the option mute the noise. Available colors: coral pink, mystique champagne, titanium gray and prestige gold.
The version with 32 GB of flash memory will cost 649 euro and we'll have to spend 699 euro on the model with 64 GB of flash memory. The price 128 GB version will be announced later. The smartphone will be available in most countries, but there hasn't been given yet information in which version and when.
