Onkyo, known for its achievements on the audio market, is attacking the smartphone market. It has solid weapons - it is in fact a smartphone with high-end music player - DP-CMX1 Granbeat.
Onkyo Granbeat received a 5-inch IPS FullHD display with Gorilla Glass 3 and a six-core Snapdragon 650 CPU clocked at 1.8/1.6 GHz. This system is supported by 3 GB of RAM and the internal memory is 128 GB and it can be expanded with a miiroSD card with another 256 GB. The phone supports two nanoSIM cards, it has also of course modules LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/GLONASS and Bluetooth 4.1 with support for SBC and apt-X/apt-X HD codecs. The versatility of the device improves the microUSB port with support for OTG mode.

Onkyo Granbeat received a 16-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX298 camera with lens with f/2.0, LED flash and filming in 4K and an 8-megapixel front camera, with a lens aperture of f/2.2. It has a battery capacity of 3000 mAh and all is enclosed in a metal casing measuring 142.3 x 72 x 11.9 mm. There were also installed additional dedicated buttons and a potentiometer supporting sound. The phone weight is 234 g.

In Onkyo Granbeat the most important, however, is sound. The phone has received an extensive music player with DAC Sabre ES9018C2M and a headphone amplifier Sabre 9601K. These elements are mirrored, there are separate for each of the stereo channels. Audio components are separated from other smartphone systems, mounted on a separate board to avoid any possible interference. The phone has two headphone minijack outputs of 2.5 and 3.5 mm, both with the possibility of working as a line-in and a microphone connection. The player supports formats DSD, DSF, DSD-IFF, MQA, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, Ogg-Vorbis, MP3 and AAC. Phone buyers will also receive a credit for downloading from the site e-Onkyo Music. The price is 91,584 yen, which gives $ 807.
