Asus Zenfone Max Shot and Zenfone Max Plus M2 - the family is expanding

The Brazilian branch of Asus has announced two new smartphones - Zenfone Max Shot and Zenfone Max Plus M2 - based on a new type of system-in-package (SiP) processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1.

The new chip integrates all modules in the new, smaller "cube", which saves a lot of space on the phone's motherboard. Technically, Snapdragon SiP 1 is the twin Snapdragon 450. In addition to the common system platform, both phones combine a similar look, as well as 6.26-inch Full HD+ screens and 4000 mAh batteries. Both smartphones debut with Android Oreo, but they will of course receive an update to Pie.

Both models received 8-megapixel cameras on the fronts, placed in a small spot. The rear cameras are different, however. Asus Zenfone Max Shot has a 12-megapixel main matrix, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and an additional 5Mpx eye for background blur. In turn, Asus Zenfone Max Plus M2 does not have a wide-angle camera - and its place is filled with a diode.

Asus Zenfone Max Shot comes in two memory versions - 3+32 and 4+64 GB, while Asus Zenfone Max Plus M2 has only one variant, 3+32 GB. Both models can use microSD cards, both have classic fingerprint readers. Asus Zenfone Max Plus M2 costs 1299 real, while Zenfone Max Shot, depending on memory, 1349 or 1699 reais. After conversion, it gives 340, 354 and 445 USD respectively.
