Redmi Note 8 Pro looks more modern, but it is bigger
Both models are maintained in a similar style - both have a screen with a droplet notch and vertically arranged cameras at the back. But still, Redmi Note 8 Pro looks more modern. The bezel around its screen is much smaller - the difference can be seen especially in the lower part. Redmi Note 8T has a large "chin" - big enough to contain the logo.
Redmi Note 8 Pro has a slightly rounded back and a camera in the middle, while Redmi Note 8T is flat and has a camera frame in the corner. In both models, the cameras unfortunately protrude significantly, but silicone covers reduce this drawback. Both smartphones can be bought in black, but it's better to choose one of the offered colour versions. They are effective. Although smartphones have screens of different sizes, their dimensions are similar: 161.3x76.4x8.79 mm vs 161.15x75.4x8.6 mm. Both weigh the same - less than 200 g. Displays are of a similar class
Both models use IPS TFT screens with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, i.e. Full HD+. Matrices offer similar parameters in terms of brightness, contrast and colour reproduction. In fact, when it comes to image clarity, they also turn out to be similar, because the pixel density factor varies only slightly. However, I consider the Redmi Note 8 Pro display to be better, which is larger (6.53"vs 6.3"), and thanks to the narrower bezel it looks more attractive. At the same time, I remind you, it does not significantly affect the dimensions of the phone.

Redmi Note 8 Pro is slightly more efficient
Redmi Note 8T has a Snapdragon 665, while Redmi Note 8 Pro is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G90T processor. Both systems achieve a clock speed of 2 GHz, but Helio will provide higher performance Redmi Note 8 Pro. In addition, the more expensive of the compared models has 6 GB of RAM, while in the cheaper one 4 GB of RAM must suffice. In the case of memory for files, there is already a draw - both models can be bought with 64 or 128 GB media, but for more economical users there is also Redmi Note 8T with 3+32 GB memory. However, I do not recommend this version, because adding 20 EUR we already have 4+64 GB. Both models allow you to use a microSD card. Here, Redmi Note 8T turns out to be more practical, equipped with a triple socket, which does not force you to choose between DualSIM and memory expansion. Unfortunately, Redmi Note 8 Pro has a hybrid card slot.

Classic fingerprint readers
Both Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8T have classic fingerprint readers located on the back of the housing. In the cheaper model, the reader is discreetly accented in the center of the back panel, while in the 8 Pro version it is hidden right next to the camera. The first solution is more practical, because you don't accidentally get the camera glass dirty. Both readers are characterized by fairly fast and reliable operation. Alternatively - you can use face recognition.
Seamless connectivity
Both models are equipped with LTE modems, dual band Wi-Fi (2.5+5 GHz) and NFC. In both we will also find minijacks and USB-C sockets, as well as infrared transmitters. Thanks to them, Redmi can act as remote controls for TV or air conditioner. If you're looking for differences, Redmi Note 8 Pro has a newer version of Bluetooth - 5.0. Both models support DualSIM, but only 8T allows the simultaneous use of the memory card.

Identical interface and application resource
Redmi Note 8T and Redmi Note 8 Pro are equipped with MIUI interface. This is the Xiaomi company overlay, offering a very wide range of personalization. You can change a lot - from the layout of the desktop and application tray to the type of icons and their number on the screen. The system has been implemented with the possibility of using convenient and intuitive gestures, there is of course a dark motif, one-hand operation mode, a screen division and an additional floating key. Redmi pre-installs a lot of additional applications, but you can remove them.

Redmi Note 8 Pro has a larger battery
Neither of the compared smartphones will let you complain about the battery capacity. Although both weigh the same and have similar dimensions (Compare the dimensions of Redmi Note 8T and Redmi Note 8 Pro), Redmi Note 8 Pro can boast of a 4500 mAh battery. In turn, in Redmi Note 8T we will find a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. And although Redmi Note 8 Pro has a larger screen and a more efficient processor, it will provide a slightly longer operating time. The difference will not be overwhelming. You can count on the fact that both models are able to work full two days. Charging the batteries of both models is carried out at a similar rate, with a power of 18 W. Suitable chargers are included in sets, which was not so obvious before.
Redmi Note 8 Pro takes better pictures
In both smartphones we will find a fairly similar photographic set. The rear cameras are quadruple, and the main matrix is complemented by an 8-megapixel wide-angle module. In addition, the cameras have two 2-megapixel matrixes dedicated to macro and background blurring. However, it is Redmi Note 8 Pro that will provide better photos, because it has a 64 Mpx matrix that can combine adjacent pixels into larger ones to capture more light. The 48-megapixel Redmi Note 8T matrix can do this too, but overall - it will get a smaller size of a super-pixel. This does not mean, however, that Redmi Note 8T takes worse photos... Simply the more expensive model is a bit better here, just like in the case of selfies.

Is it better to buy Redmi Note 8T or Redmi Note 8 Pro?
So, as you can see, there are several elements justifying the price differences of compared models... The more expensive Redmi Note 8 Pro is supported by higher performance, more memory, a better camera and a more modern look. This phone has a larger screen than Redmi Note 8T, but it does not have a much larger housing. The secret is in the "margins" around the display. A cheaper phone will be a better choice for a user who not only wants to save some cash, but also intends to simultaneously use two SIM cards and microSD memory. In both models we will find NFC, as well as a minijack or a remote control function. Redmi Note 8 Pro has a slightly larger battery, but the operating times will be similar. We charge both phones at an accelerated rate. In fact, memory versions will affect price and choice. The choice is as follows:
- Redmi Note 8T 3 GB+32 GB - 149,9 EUR
- Redmi Note 8T 4 GB+64 GB - 169,9 EUR
- Redmi Note 8T 4 GB+128 GB - 189,9 EUR
- Redmi Note 8 Pro 6 GB+64 GB - 209,9 EUR
- Redmi Note 8 Pro 6 GB+128 GB 279,9 EUR
Redmi Note 8T prices start from 149,9 EUR, but for a modest version with 3+32 GB memory. I recommend it only to the most economical buyers. In turn, the most expensive variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro, with 6+128 GB memory costs 279,9 EUR. I recommend it to users looking for a phone with greater possibilities, but still attractive in price. And I would recommend this version as the first choice. Alternative Redmi Note 8T with 4+128 GB memory costs 189,9 EUR, and in my opinion it is better to add 20 EUR and enjoy 2 GB of RAM more in the Pro 6+64 GB model, or by adding another 20 EUR choose the best option mentioned above version 6+128 GB. "An average", or 8T with 4+64 memory, for 169,9 EUR will not be a bad choice either, but compared to the others - it looks not very interesting. It is neither the cheapest nor the best.
