The MWC trade fair is a good opportunity to take a look at smartphones, which are currently a bit exotic for us. Of course, I'm talking about ZTE smartphones, which had a really impressive stand at this year's fair.
You could see devices that were presented some time ago, such as the ZTE Axon 30 series.
The glossy casing of the basic model Axon 30 5G is terribly finger-like, but it attracts the eye with its original camera frame. On the other hand, the most interesting of the cameras in this model doesn’t catch the eye at all - it is a sub-screen selfie camera, camouflaged enough that you have to really look closely to notice it. And what kind of photos does he take? Well, so-so. The photos look like they are behind the fog and aren’t the sharpest.
Probably that's why in the higher model, i.e. ZTE Axon 30 Ultra, we already have a classic selfie hole. Another innovation awaits us at the back - three matrices with a resolution of 64 Mpx and additionally a camera with a periscope telephoto lens.
We also saw a cheaper series than ZTE, Blade V40 - V40 Pro, V40 Vita and the main model simply called V40. The exact specification can be found, as usual, in our catalog, and for now I will mention that I noticed the huge ZTE Blade logo on the Vita model. Someone here was probably inspired by Realme.
Another interesting smartphone was the new Nubia model, Z40 Pro. It had its launch literally a few days ago, just before the fair itself. This is a model from a slightly higher shelf, which can boast, for example, 80 W charging and a quite fresh Sony IMX 787 matrix which, as clearly indicated on its large frame, has a 35 mm lens focal length.
This isn’t all about Nubia - ZTE also presented the new RedMagic model, the Nubia sub-brand intended for players. Nubia RedMagic 7 is a gaming monster, with the latest 1st generation Snapdragon 8 and a dedicated and illuminated cooling system. As the housing proudly announces, the phone is cooled by a fan with a speed of 20,000 revolutions per minute. Apart from this eye-catching detail, the design is typical of the RedMagic series - a bit refreshed, but the phone still has a smooth, easily dirty glass back.
The set of cameras is also typical - the main unit 64 Mpx, 8 Mpx wide-angle and 2 Mpx for macro is a standard that has been repeated in the RedMagic series for several generations. But taking photos is not a priority for RedMagic, which is confirmed by a small 8 Mpx selfie camera on the frame above the symmetrical screen without holes or notches, but with an impressive refresh rate, as much as 165 Hz. For games - ideal.
