In May, OpenAI released a standalone app ChatGPT for iOS and promised that it will soon be made available on the Android platform as well. Recently, OpenAI announced that the ChatGPT app for Android will be released this week.
Those interested in trying the ChatGPT app for Android can pre-order on the Google Play Store. The app will be free to use and will sync user history across devices, however it's unclear which markets will get it first.
OpenAI says the ChatGPT standalone app will provide users with instant answers, tailored advice, creative inspiration, professional guidance, and learning opportunities. However, the Android app may not be identical to the iOS version as we are dealing with two different operating systems. Don't expect integration with Siri and Shortcuts that are available in the iOS app.
