Asus remains one of the few manufacturers offering smartphones for mobile gamers. What does the latest version of the company's line - Asus ROG Phone 8 - offer?
Asus ROG Phone 8 and Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro - because we are actually talking about two versions of the same smartphone - it was designed to remain a gaming model, but at the same time perform better in everyday use than its predecessors. For this reason, the smartphone has a slightly less flashy appearance, but it is dust- and waterproof in the IP68 class, which is a big leap compared to the IP54 of its predecessor. The display has the same size as the previous generation model - 6.78 inches, but with a narrower frame and LTPO technology. The screen refreshes the image at a frequency of up to 165 Hz, but this parameter can be smoothly adjusted from 1 to 120 Hz. The maximum display brightness is 2500 nits.
The heart of the new ROG is, of course, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, supported by LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 memories and cooled by the newly designed, effective AeroActive Cooler The photographic part features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 matrix with a size of 1/1.56 inch with six-axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0. Next to it there is also a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, as well as a 32-megapixel, optically stabilized camera with a 3x telephoto lens. Interestingly, in some markets, the base Asus ROG Phone 8 model will be equipped with a moderately useful macro camera in its place.

Prices for the basic version of ROG Phone 8 start at EUR 1,099, the Pro 16+512 GB variant costs EUR 1,199, and the Edition 24 GB + 1 TB model - EUR 1,499.
