A month ago, Honor Magic6 Lite 5G had its launch, and now the new series has officially been expanded by two new models. The Honor Magic V2 in Porsche style was also shown at the launch event.
Honor Magic 6 with an unbreakable screen
The new Honors have displays typical of flagships - OLED LTPO with variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, PWM dimming 4320 Hz and FHD+ resolution: 1264x2800 px in the basic model with a 6.78-inch screen, 1280x2800 px in the slightly larger 6, 8-inch Pro model. The two models also differ in dimensions - Honor Magic 6 has dimensions of 161.8 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm and weighs 206 or 199 g depending on the variant (the glass housing is heavier than the vegan leather), and Honor Magic 6 Pro measures 162 .5 x 75.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs 229 or 225 g.
A special feature of the displays is their durability, which is ensured by the armored JuRhino Glass developed by Honor, which, according to the manufacturer, is 30% more impact resistant than Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max - during the premiere conference this was spectacularly illustrated by colliding two screens at great speed, of which only the Honor glass emerged in one piece. The Honor Magic 6 series is also resistant to water and dust, offering IP68 tightness.

The flagship smartphone could not be missing the latest processor, so both Honor Magic 6 and Honor Magic6 Pro are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Honor adds its own E1 and C1 chips - the former reduces energy consumption, and the latter boosts connectivity, allowing for 41% faster sending and 51% faster receiving data. Good connectivity will be especially useful when connecting to a satellite offered by Honor Magic 6 Pro - if there is no coverage, satellite communication will enable voice calls and text messages in both directions.
Honor Magic 6 Pro with a record-breaking telephoto lens
Compared to its predecessor Honor Magic6 Lite, the camera islands of the Honor Magic 6 and Honor Magic 6 Pro models look quite innovative. Do the parameters reflect this?
The basic Honor Magic 6 offers quite an attractive set for photography - while Honor Magic 6 Lite boasts only the main camera, in Honor Magic 6 each of the four cameras has its place. The main role here is played by the 50 Mpx OVH9000 matrix with f/1.9 aperture and optical stabilization, accompanied by a 32 Mpx telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, OIS and 50x digital zoom, as well as a 50 Mpx f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle module. On the front, there is an equally attractive 50 Mpx f/2.0 camera for selfies.

However, things get really interesting when we look at the photographic capabilities of Honor Magic 6 Pro. The wide-angle module is the same as in the basic Honor Magic 6, but the 50 Mpx main camera has a variable f/1.4-f/2.0 aperture, and the periscope telephoto lens has an f/2.6 aperture and 180 Mpx resolution - even more than promised leaks about Honor Magic 6 cameras. The multitude of megapixels will probably be used primarily to take better-exposed photos with a more typical resolution using pixel combining technology, but in any case, the Honor Magic 6 Pro periscope will enable 100x digital zoom.
On the front there is a 50 Mpx selfie camera familiar from the basic version, but in the Pro model it is accompanied by a ToF depth sensor, helping to take portraits and more secure face unlocking.
Fast charging even without a cable
Wired charging of new Honor smartphones is fast, but it will not break any records among Chinese flagships. What is noteworthy is that the speed of wireless charging does not differ much from traditional charging, and the battery capacity is larger than that of many competitors - usually even top-shelf smartphones are satisfied with 5000 mAh batteries. Meanwhile, Honor Magic 6 has a 5,450 mAh battery with 66 W wired charging and 50 W inductive charging, and Honor Magic 6 Pro offers a 5,600 mAh capacity, 80 W wired charging and 66 W inductive charging. Both models also enable 7.5 W reverse charging, thanks to which will serve the smartphone as an inductive charger for other devices.
Both Honor Magic 6 and Honor Magic 6 Pro are available in the same five color options - the white Qilian Snow variant, the black Velvet Black and the turquoise Sea Lake Green have a glass back, and the green Wheat Wave Green and purple Flowing Cloud Purple the back cover is made of vegan leather, i.e. nicely shaped plastic. Both models offer up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of internal memory, and the Pro version also has a version with 1 TB of file space. The Chinese prices of individual memory variants are as follows:
- Honor Magic 6, 12+256 GB: ¥4,399 (€560)
- Honor Magic 6, 16+256 GB: ¥4,699 (€600)
- Honor Magic 6, 16+512 GB: ¥4,999 (€640)
- Honor Magic 6, 12+256 GB: ¥5,699 (€730)
- Honor Magic 6, 16+512 GB: ¥6,199 (€790)
- Honor Magic 6, 16+1024 GB: ¥6,699 (€860)
Honor Magic V2 Porsche Design
Honor Magic6 Porsche Design announced in leaks did not debut along with the other variants, but you could see the return of the familiar smartphone in a new version - it received Porsche styling foldable Honor Magic V2. The price of the special edition (available in the 16 GB + 1 TB memory variant) is 15,999 yuan, or approximately EUR 2,000.
New Honor smartphones can be expected in Europe on January 27.
