More gossip about new iPhone models. In the next generation, smartphone screens will get bigger - and will their housings grow too?
This time, a quite reliable leakster from China brings us news about the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Will the new models change compared to their predecessors? Yes! Both iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have larger displays! The iPhone 16 Pro model will receive a 6.3-inch screen instead of 6.1 inches in the current model. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will grow from 6.7 inches in the current iPhone Pro Max model to 6.9 inches. Will the increase in diagonals translate into an increase in housing dimensions? Unfortunately yes!

iPhone 16 Pro will grow from the current 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.25 mm and 187 g in weight to 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25 mm and 194 g. In turn, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will grow from 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.25 mm and 221 g will grow to 163.02 x 77.58 x 8.26 mm and 225 g. As you can see, the dimensions of the cases do not increase as much as the increase in display diagonals suggests. That's why that the new iPhone Pro models will have significantly narrower frames than their predecessors. To be more specific, in the iPhone 16 Pro model the screen frame will narrow from 1.71 mm to 1.2 mm, and in the iPhone 16 Pro Max model it will be even more impressive, with the frame width reduced from 1.2 to 1.15 mm. The frames will of course be symmetrical, equal on each side, but the smaller model will gain more in appearance, the change for the better will be more noticeable than the 0.05 mm reduction in the Max. This is thanks to the new Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology.
