Samsung smartphones are usually characterized by simple and sensible names, but this time it's different. More than a year after the global premiere of the Samsung Galaxy A25, a phone with the same name appeared in Japan... but with a different appearance and parameters.
The difference is visible at first glance - three vertical cameras are the hallmark of Galaxy smartphones, while the https://www.samsung.com/jp/smartphones/galaxy-a/galaxy-a25-5g-light-blue-64gb-sm-a253qlbasjp/ has only two - the main 50 Mpx and the additional 2 Mpx. The color versions are also different - sky blue, navy blue and white, without a trace of yellow that characterizes the global model. The selfie camera in the notch looks identical, although there is a difference here too - the Japanese model has only 5 Mpx at the front.
The Japanese model also has a different processor - Mediatek Dimensity 6300+, and a single set of memory - 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of file space, expandable with a microSD card. Its screen is 6.7 inches, but unlike the global version, it is a TFT display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px, and with a basic refresh rate of 60 Hz. However, it does not lack the IP68 tightness class popular in Japan. The smartphone has a 5000 mAh battery and a fingerprint reader on the side edge.
From February 27, the new model will be available from Japanese network operators NTT Docomo, Au Mobile, J:Com, Y!Mobile, SoftBank and UQ Mobile and in the Samsung store. Its price will be 29,900 yen, or about 196 dollars, 187 euros.
