The inexpensive Vivo Y31 5G and Vivo Y31 Pro 5G smartphones have debuted in India, and there's no need to overthink them.
Although Vivo Y31 5G and Vivo Y31 Pro 5G are relatively entry-level smartphones, their configurations—aside from a few minor details—are quite reasonable, and it's perhaps a shame that these models are currently only available in India. The cheaper and simpler Vivo Y31 5G model offers IP68/IP69 waterproofing, military-grade impact resistance, and a choice of two housing colors. The weaker point of the specifications, unfortunately resulting from the low price, is the 6.68-inch LCD display with only HD+ resolution, and the base memory set of 4+128 GB doesn't look much better. Fortunately, there's also a 6+128 GB version, and the processor is Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, thanks to which the phone supports 5G networks. The 8-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.0) is also a bit modest, but the rear camera has a more robust 50 megapixels and an f/1.8 aperture. There are even stereo speakers. The best feature here is the 6500 mAh battery, which charges at 44W. Add to that the rather impressive styling and prices, which, depending on the RAM, range from 20,000 to 21,500 rupees, or $227-245 or PLN 820-882.

Vivo Y31 Pro 5G is more expensive, but it offers a Full HD+ resolution display with a 6.72-inch diagonal and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, reaching a brightness of up to 1050 nits, though still using LCD technology. This model already has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and decent memory options: 8+128 or 8+256 GB. We also have a 6500 mAh battery with 44-watt charging and a similar camera setup to the base model. The background blur has been changed to a 2-megapixel camera, but does that make much of a difference? We still have stereo speakers and MIL-STD-810H durability, but the waterproof rating is slightly lower – IP64. As always, there are two colour options and two prices, based on the memory used. This model costs 24,000 or 26,000 rupees, or $273-295.
