Alongside the impressive Porsche Design smartphone, the equally impressive Honor Magic8 Pro Air debuted today. What makes it stand out?
Honor Magic8 Pro Air is a masterpiece of smartphone engineering, housed in a 6.1 mm thick casing and weighing only 155 g. Its dimensions are 150.5 x 71.9 x 6.1 mm, making it not only thin but also compact. Despite its low weight and slim design, the manufacturer hasn't made many compromises. The only drawback is the battery, which has a rather unimpressive 5500 mAh capacity, but is still quite good considering the smartphone's category. The battery charges at 80W via wired charging and 50W via induction. Beyond that, it's uncompromising. The smartphone has an IP68/IP69 water resistance rating, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and eSIM support. At the heart of the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor with LPDDR5x and UFS 4.1 memory, and MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.

The 6.31-inch (which is quite small) AMOLED LTPO display has a 1.2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of up to 6000 nits. A 50-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.0) sits at the top of the screen. While this may have been a challenge, the protruding horizontal camera bay houses three cameras: a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, optical stabilization, and an f/1.6 aperture, and another 50-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens and macro function (f/2.2, 112 degrees). The setup is completed by a 64-megapixel camera with a 1/1.2-inch sensor and a 3.2x telephoto lens, optical stabilization, and an f/2.6 aperture. Four colors are available: Shadow Black, Fairy Purple, Feather White, and Light Orange, as well as four memory kits:
- 12+256 GB - 5,000 yuan, $720
- 12+512 GB - 5.3k yuan, $765
- 16+512 GB - 5.6k yuan, $805
- 16 GB + 1 TB - 6k yuan, $865
