Older cellphone users may remember that the first models with cameras had mirrors next to them to make taking selfies easier. And if we were to cross such a phone from years ago with a Pixel, we would probably get the new Realme 16.
Realme 16 joins the already establishedRealme 16 Pro series models, but it has a completely different style. The smartphone is housed in a matte body with a large, horizontal camera bezel, which—in addition to the two cameras—also houses... a mirror. Why? To allow for framing selfies taken with the rear camera, just like in the old days. This is probably just a gimmick, though, as both the front and rear cameras are 50 megapixels, although the rear camera has an f/1.8 aperture, and the front one has an f/2.4 aperture. Additionally, the rear camera also has a 2-megapixel portrait lens, but that's probably the only argument justifying the mirror.

Besides that, the Realme 16 has a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and up to 1400 nits of brightness, as well as a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor, supported by LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 memory. Power is provided by a 7000 mAh battery that charges at 60W. All this is housed in a two-color housing with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. Currently, this model is available in Vietnam in 8+256 and 12+256 GB versions, priced at $445 and $485 respectively.
