Honor Play 80 Pro has debuted in China. It's a budget smartphone, but it's equipped with a large battery, boasting a capacity of 7000 mAh. It's accompanied by a cheaper, budget model, Honor Play 80.
The 7000 mAh battery is this smartphone's main – and, I'm tempted to say, only – advantage. The battery charges at a decent 45W, relatively quickly, and is supposed to provide up to 23 hours of watching shorts or 72 hours of listening to music, among other things. Unfortunately, it gets weaker from there. The smartphone has a large, 6.8-inch screen, but only with HD+ resolution. As a consolation, the screen reaches a brightness of 850 nits, but there's no information about the refresh rate, so let's assume it's a typical 60 Hz. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor with a 5G modem, and runs Android 15 with the MagicOS 9 interface. The smartphone also has a 5-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel main camera, as well as IP65 waterproofing. Honor Play 80 Pro is available in three colours, measures 166.89 x 76.8 x 8.24 mm, and weighs 207 g. Three memory variants are available:
- 6+256 GB - 1899 yuan, $275
- 8+256 GB - 2099 yuan, $305
- 12+256 GB - 2299 yuan, $335

Alongside this model, the even less attractive Honor Play 80 debuts. This model features a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and a 5300 mAh battery that charges at 15W. We're seeing the 6.75-inch HD+ LCD screen again. There's also a 5-megapixel selfie camera, but the rear camera is only 13-megapixel. Pricing for this model hasn't been announced yet.
