Vivo is preparing a budget smartphone, the Y05i, but its launch is still ahead of us. Meanwhile, an even cheaper and simpler model has appeared in South Africa – the Vivo Y05e.
Vivo Y05e lacks any interesting features or significant advantages. The smartphone is simply meant to be cheap – and work. It certainly does that, but it's unlikely to impress users with its smooth performance. It has a Unisoc T606 processor supported by a rather modest 4GB+64GB memory setup. The screen isn't exactly impressive either – it measures 6.74 inches and has HD+ resolution, and runs the OriginOS 6 interface based on Android 16. There's a cutout for a 5-megapixel selfie camera, while the rear houses an 8-megapixel main camera. It also includes dual SIM and a minijack, and is powered by a 5150 mAh battery. As you can see, there's nothing to rave about here, and the smartphone's strongest point seems to be its IP64 waterproofing. The price in South Africa isn't impressive either, at the equivalent of $150. A bit too expensive for the stated features...
