Xiaomi today unveiled two new smartphones from the Redmi Note series. Meet Redmi Note 17 and the Redmi Note 17 Pro!
Although the new series lacks the announced Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, the new models don't disappoint with capacious batteries, and also stand out with large screens. They are slightly less impressive in terms of photography, and they are mid-range in terms of performance. The appearance of the Redmi Note 17 series is also unlikely to impress – the styling is very simple.
Redmi Note 17
Redmi Note 17 features a 7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2396x1080 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and brightness of up to 1800 nits. The screen features a punch-hole for an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture, while on the back there's a standard 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The smartphone uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, supported by LPDDR4x and UFS 2.2 memory, and is powered by an 8,000 mAh battery that charges at 45W via wired charging and supports reverse charging at 22.5W. The smartphone features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the display and an IP65-rated casing. Other features include an infrared transmitter, a microSD card slot, and NFC. The Note 17 measures 169.7 x 79.14 x 8.26 mm and weighs 225 g.

Redmi Note 17 Pro
Redmi Note 17 Pro, on the other hand, has a smaller, 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2772 x 1280 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and brightness of up to 3500 nits. The cameras are essentially the same as those in the base model, but there's an additional 2-megapixel camera on the back for portraits. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, again with LPDDR4x RAM, but with two types of internal storage: UFS 2.2 in the lowest-end 128 GB variant and UFS 3.1 in the other variants. This model is powered by a 9000 mAh battery, but with 67-watt charging, although the reverse charging power remains the same as in the base model. The additional features are similar, but the finish is different: the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the casing has a water resistance rating of IP66 to IP69K. This model's dimensions are 163.45 x 78.27 x 8.46 mm and it weighs 226 g.
