Oppo A7 Pro and Oppo A7 Pro Max have just launched in another market, once again offering exceptionally large batteries at very reasonable prices.
It is not uncommon for smartphones sharing the same name to have different specifications depending on the market, but that is not an issue here; the official Malaysian Oppo website confirms that these remain the same two entry-to-mid-range smartphones, notable primarily for their impressive battery capacity.
The more affordable of the two variants, the Oppo A7 Pro 5G, features a relatively compact 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2372 x 1080 px (FHD+), a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1400 nits. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card.
Photography duties are handled by a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP monochrome camera on the back, along with a 50 MP selfie camera on the front. The somewhat underwhelming processor and camera setup are compensated for by an 8,000 mAh battery that supports 45W charging via the SUPERVOOC and UFCS standards; this ensures compatibility with fast chargers from numerous Chinese brands, including Vivo, Xiaomi, and Huawei. The Oppo A7 Pro 5G runs on ColorOS 16 and supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC connectivity. It is available in two color variants: "Surfing Blue," featuring a wavy pattern, and the understated dark gray "Shine Titanium."

The Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G differs from the Oppo A7 Pro 5G in somewhat subtle ways—despite the distinct appearance of the rear camera module, the camera specifications for both smartphones are very similar, though the Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G's main camera stands out by offering additional two-axis optical image stabilization.
The Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of internal storage using the faster UFS 3.1 standard... though it lacks the option to expand storage via a microSD card. The size difference between the two smartphones makes more sense: the Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G features a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a higher resolution of 2772 x 1272 px, while also housing a larger 10,000 mAh battery that supports 80 W charging via the SUPERVOOC and UFCS standards. Color options include "Surfing Blue" and "Lunar Black."
