In case of the model One HTC starts to have an interesting strategy involving the creation of local mutation of this model for key markets. After China's version (with dual-SIM and microSD) there is time for Japan. HTC One for KDDI will receive the attributes specific to that market.
At the first glance, the Japanese version of One, or would be marked HTL22 or J One, not much different from international, including available in Europe. From the visual side the changes aren't visible, but - as the model of China - HTL22 has a removable back cover, revealing access to the microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB of storage media. The battery is still non-removable and there hasn't been changed the key elements of the structure. What is new is however OneSEG digital TV receiver and support for NFC-based payment FeliCa. There will be one element missing, characteristic of smartphones offered in Japan, namely water resistance. Japanese version of the HTC One will go on sale at the beginning of June.
