The flagship Huawei tablet we reviewed has just received a successor. What can the new MatePad boast?
Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 2025 performed excellently in our tests – it impressed with its comfort, performance, and audiovisual experience, and even took good photos. The Huawei MatePad Pro 2026 replicates many of its features while also bringing a few improvements – its processor is now the Kirin T93 (or the more modest Kirin T93A in the cheaper Enjoy Edition variant), which, according to the manufacturer, is 25% more powerful than its predecessor. It comes with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage, plus a central 7.2 W stereo cooling system.
Another improvement is its size – the Huawei MatePad Pro 2026 is only 4.7 mm thin and weighs 439 g, yet it still houses a larger 10,400 mAh battery that charges at 66 W and supports reverse charging at 40 W. Also new is the HarmonyOS 6.1 operating system with a Dual Desktop function that allows you to switch between tablet and desktop modes with a single gesture, supporting over 200 PC applications.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 2026 display is a 12-inch OLED with a resolution of 3036 x 1952 px, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a peak 1600 nits of brightness and AI HDR, with nano-etching technology to reduce reflections in the Soft Light Edition. Photos can be taken with a 50MP rear camera with autofocus, and a 12MP front camera is available for selfies and video calls. The Huawei MatePad Pro 2026 also features four stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 7+, and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, but lacks mobile connectivity.
Like the previous model, the Huawei MatePad Pro 2026 is likely to be released globally, but for now, it's available for purchase in China. You can choose from dark gray, white, silver, gold, and sky blue colors, and the prices for each variant are as follows:
