Firefox OS smartphones so far have had little success. They sell mainly thanks to the support of operators. Possible, however, that Mozilla will appear on more mobiles - without Firefox OS.
Mozilla has signed an agreement with the developers of the interface overlay on Android - EverythingMe Launcher - which for some time is already available in Google Play. The outcome will be Firefox Launcher, integrated with Firefox. For now, there are only available examples of screenshots, showing the appearance of Firefox Launcher. Overlay of Mozilla has to be closely connected with the search engine, as well as the rest of the phone software. It will make possible faster and more efficient web browsing, as well as launch applications on the basis of the search. For example - finding the name of the band will tell right away where you can buy their works, would also provide links to YouTube, websites, etc. Similarly, it will respond to other inquiries.
For now, the project is in ready for beta testing - which means that the work is already underway, but the product is not yet definitively tested. At the moment it is difficult to predict the release date, but Mozilla has announced a conference during the MWC in Barcelona at the end of the month. It is possible that they will reveal some secrets...
