The Bullitt Group, owner of the Cat smartphone brand, today unveiled a new model of a rugged smartphone with a thermal imaging camera - CAT S62 Pro. This is the successor to the popular CAT S61 model.

CAT S62 Pro is the third generation of the Cat 60 series, featuring the latest Thermal by FLIR technology. The FLIR Lepton 3.5 thermal imaging sensor and the new MyFLIR Pro application offer a fourfold increase in the resolution of thermal images and a new feature set in the application. CAT S62 Pro has been tested to Cat phone durability standards. It achieves and exceeds IP68 dust and liquid ingress protection and the US military standard Mil Spec 810H. It has undergone rigorous testing, including multiple drop tests from 1.8m to steel, multiple drops to each side and corner, as well as extensive waterproofing, dirt and dust resistance, extreme temperature resistance, and vibration and drop tests. It is also hygienic - it can be completely submerged and can be easily washed with soap and disinfectants, or cleaned with alcohol wipes.

For the first time, professionals and consumers can access FLIR Systems' VividIR image processing technology, enhanced MSX (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging), and blending technology between visible and thermal light. The solution allows you to overlay visual contour details from a scene onto a thermal image, or use the new alpha blend feature to combine thermal details with the visual image from a Sony dual-pixel camera. The new software provides analytical and reporting functions typical of higher-end dedicated thermal imaging products. The device records temperatures from -20 to 400 degrees C and has the ability to display an alert when the tested item reaches the temperature specified by the user. Thanks to this, you can check the operating temperature of the machine, the degree of liquid heating or even ... the grill. Markers can be applied to the image to show the coolest and hottest point in the frame.

CAT S62 Pro received a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 glass, as well as a touch panel adapted to use with a gloved hand or when wet. The heart of the machine is the Snapdragon 660 processor, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory. The list of equipment also includes an air quality sensor, NFC, FM radio, laser distance measurement and an 8-megapixel selfie camera and a 12-megapixel main camera (f/1.8). The phone is powered by a 4000 mAh battery. The phone was priced at 649 euro.
