OnePlus presented the OnePlus 8T Concept model. As the name suggests, it is a conceptual device used to present the technologies that - perhaps - will be added to the company's next models.
As the name suggests, OnePlus 8T Concept is based on the well-known OnePlus 8T smartphone. However, the device has been modified to present two new - and importantly: innovative - solutions. The first is a colour-changeable housing. Thanks to the control of the current flowing through the layers of the housing, metal particles contained between them can change their state, which in turn will result in a change in the colour of the housing. It will change smoothly from silver to blue. As you can see - only the pattern added on the casing can change, so stylists will have a lot of creative freedom... The casing with changeable colours is not only decorative - it can act as a notification beacon.
The second of the presented technologies can be seen in the form of a small "eye" next to the camera. This is a radar that uses mmWave waves. It allows you to track objects, change their location and distance from the phone. It does not need light, so it will work better in blurring the background in photos than a typical sensor. What's more, this sensor will allow you to control the phone using gestures made in the air. In addition, OnePlus also presented an application that uses the sensor. It monitors the number of breaths based on the person's chest movements. These are just a few of the possible applications of the new sensor, which does not necessarily have to be on the back of the phone - it can also hit the front of the phone, it does not take up too much space.
