The Chinese brand Honor today unveiled its first smartphone after separating from Huawei. Of course - Honor V40 was designed while Honor belonged to Huawei...

Honor V40 is offered in three colours and has a fairly nice casing, covered on both sides with glass with bent edges. The display is made in OLED technology and has a diagonal of 6.72 inches and a binocular hole for a selfie camera. The screen refresh rate is 120 Hz, and the touch panel is refreshed at 300 Hz. The screen resolution is 2676 x 1236 pixels.

The camera of the new Honor has a frame similar to that used in recent Vivo smartphones: the main lens is larger than the others. The matrix working behind it has 50 megapixels with a micrometer size, arranged in the RYYB system. The size of this matrix is 1/1.56". Of course, the matrix combines pixels in lower light, up to a size of 2 micrometers. Another photographic module - 8 Mpx - is responsible for wide-angle photos, and next to it there is a 2 Mpx macro camera. LED diode and laser autofocus sensor The front camera has 16 megapixels and an additional sensor for the facial recognition system, the multimedia package is completed by stereo speakers.

The heart of the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor, working with 8 GB of RAM. Flash memories are available: 128 or 256 GB. The smartphone powers a 4000 mAh battery with 66 W fast charging and almost equally fast induction - 50 W. The smartphone works under the control of Android 10 with the Magic UI 4.0 interface. The premiere took place in China, so there is no mention of the presence of Google services yet - but there are rumors that the global variant of Honor V4 is to be certified by Google. The price of the phone is 3599 or 3999 yuan - depending on the selected memory. After conversion, it's about $ 560-620.

On the occasion of the launch, the head of Honor, George Zhao, confirmed that the company had established (although more correctly: renewed) contracts with key partners. Among them are mainly Qualcomm and MediaTek, as well as AMD, Micron Technology, Microsoft, Samsung, SK Hynix and Sony... This means Honor is back in the game for good and has access to the same technology as its competitors.
