Alongside the launch of the flagship Xiaomi 18 Pro models featuring the latest Snapdragon chips, we also have the new Xiaomi Pad 9 and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro tablets—though these are powered by older processors.

The launch of the new Xiaomi tablets took place somewhat in the shadow of the flagship Xiaomi 18 Pro presentation, but it is still worth noting. What do the Chinese giant's new tablets offer?

Xiaomi Pad 9

The Xiaomi Pad 9 is the smaller—and naturally, less powerful—model of the pair. It features an 11.2-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 3200x2136 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, and brightness reaching 800 nits. The display is also available in a matte "soft-light" version. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, supported by LPDDR5X RAM (in the 8 GB version) and LPDDR5T RAM (in the 12 GB variant). Internal storage types also vary: the 128 GB variant features UFS 3.1, while the 256 GB version uses UFS 4.1. The tablet is powered by a 9,720 mAh battery with 45W charging, and the setup is rounded out by cameras: an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Pricing is as follows:

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro is larger, featuring a 12.5-inch display; while the screen specifications are similar, it achieves a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, and—much like the base model—memory types vary: LPDDR5X+UFS 3.1 for the 8+128 GB version, and LPDDR5T+UFS 4.1 for the higher-end configurations. Naturally, the tablet features a larger battery—11,000 mAh with 67W charging—and has gained more impressive cameras: a 32-megapixel front-facing one and a 50-megapixel rear one.
