Samsung is preparing two new budget smartphones - Galaxy Pocket 2 and Galaxy Core 2 Duos. Their announcement appeared in a Vietnamese online store, which suggests their imminent launch.
At the moment we have no official confirmation of both models’ specifications; we have to rely only on the information from the Vietnamese. Galaxy Pocket 2 is a cheap, simple smartphone with Android 4.4.2 for the least demanding users. It has a small 3.2-inch QVGA display and a modest, single-core 1 GHz CPU, supported by an equally modest 512 MB of RAM. Built-in ROM has only 4 GB which should leave the user with slightly more than 2 GB capacity for files. Fortunately, there is a microSD card slot. The phone is powered by a battery with a capacity of 1200 mAh, and the photographic options are as basic as the rest of the equipment. The main camera has a 2-megapixel matrix; the front camera captures the image in VGA. Of course you cannot dream about LTE, but you can count on a low price. The phone will be available in a Single-SIM and a Dual-SIM versions.

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos looks slightly better. Its main advantage will be the ability to support double-SIM cards, as the rest of the specification is not very impressive. Galaxy Core 2 Duos has a 4.5-inch WVGA display and a 5-megapixel camera with LED. Thankfully it has a quad-core CPU, and in addition we have a 768 MB of RAM. Unfortunately, the ROM still has only 4 GB, therefore it will be essential to purchase a microSD card. The battery has a 2000 mAh capacity. This model also uses Android 4.4.2 KitKat and should be relatively cheap.
