The first live photos of the Pixel 8 Pro were shared on Reddit yesterday, via Droid-Life, though the photos were quickly deleted afterwards.
One of the images shows the back of the device with a sticker that reads "For Test/Evaluation Only". Also visible on the back of the phone is the "Zuma" source code which refers to the Tensor 3 chip that will power the phone. There is also a sensor on the back panel of the phone (under the flash) that will be able to measure the body temperature of the phone user.
The back of the device appears to have a pattern texture. However, this is likely something Google uses in test units and may not be part of the final design of the phone.

The front of the phone, showing the fastboot screen, mentions the source code "Husky", which is the designation for the Pixel 8 Pro model. The screen also reveals that the particular prototype pictured has 12GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS storage from Korean manufacturer SK Hynix. The photo shows that the Pixel 8 Pro will not have a curved screen like the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro. The screen will remain 6.7 inches diagonal and will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Rumors say the Pixel 8 Pro will get an upgraded camera system that will be led by Samsung's 50MP ISOCELL GN2 sensor, replacing the previous GN1. The new image sensor is said to allow 35% more light entry, which will improve the quality of photos taken in low light conditions. Pixel 8 Pro is also to have a wide-angle camera with a Sony IMX787 matrix with a resolution of 64 Mpx. The same telephoto setting that was present on the Pixel 7 Pro is also to be used on the Pixel 8 Pro, equipped with a periscope lens, and the front selfie camera is to remain unchanged.
Recently, the informant revealed the battery specification for the Pixel 8 Pro model. We also know that the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in Jade, Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky colours, with Google possibly both phones in October.
A Reddit tester claimed to have received a Pixel 8 Pro prototype from Google for testing. It is likely that the photos were removed from the social network because a Reddit subscriber received a communication from Google asking him to remove the photos from the platform.
